Built like a race ski, but with the width of an all-mountain ski, the Volkl Kenja works all over the hill. Measuring 87 millimeters under foot, it’s quick and nimble on groomers but pushes soft snow around as well. A very versatile ski, the Kenja is definitely not for the light of heart, it’s stiffer and more carvy than many women’s skis on the market. But if you are just going to have one ski in your quiver, this would be a smart choice. [$774; available next fall; www.volkl.com]
