Deer Valley Resort aims for the stars. And it often reaches them, especially where lodging is concerned. Those with Deer Valley in their sights this winter shouldn’t delay: These options hit the mark in service, amenities and convenience.
Stein’s is classic Deer Valley. Established in 1983 by the Olympic gold medalist—still the director of skiing at the mountain—this lodge at the foot of the Sterling lift consistently graces lists of the top hotels in ski country. The décor is Scandinavian, with blond-pine trim and white-stone fireplaces. There are 180 rooms, an outdoor pool and hot tub, fitness room, full spa and hands-down one of the best breakfasts in the Park City area. (Even if you can’t pronounce the name of the restaurant—it’s GLIT’-re-tind—splurge on the decadent chocolate-chip pancakes.) But even a classic needs to be dusted off, and the Stein’s lobby, lounge and restaurant got an upgrade in 2006.
