Luke Larsen grew up in Salt Lake City at the foot of the Little Cottonwood Canyon. He raced at Snowbird but got plenty of days in at Alta as well; then he transitioned into freeskiing competitions on the IFSA tour. He now manages the Lift House ski shop, which his family has owned since 1978 and where he started working in high school. (It’s right at mouth of Big Cottonwood, in the same building as Porcupine’s.) He married a cowgirl and is teaching her to ski. “She’s picking it up pretty quick.” They have two children, age one and four.
