Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa
Here's where the U.S. Green Building Council comes in: they’ve decided to push environmentally friendly building—hotels included—by coming up with a certification program, LEED, which rates buildings on how sustainable they are. Buildings receive a certain number of points for sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy & atmosphere, materials & resources, indoor environmental quality, and innovation & design. Based on the points a building earns, they gain either basic, silver, gold, or platinum certification.
The Westin Riverfront: If you drive a hybrid vehicle you’re in luck. The Westin Riverfront offers priority parking for hybrids, not that you’ll need to use your car since the slopes at Beaver Creek Resort are just a three-minute gondola ride away. After a hard day of skiing, Spa Anjali can help you relax and fell green, since they only use eco-friendly products. For people who really have the eco-bug, the hotel has a Green Stay package that includes carbon offset credits and $150 credit to Spa Anjali.
