The highest peak in the east at 6,288 feet, Mount Washington was appropriately named after America's first president, George Washington. The mountain is king of the Presidential Range and more commonly known as the king of bad weather. Home to some of the worst wind, rain, snow and whatever else you can imagine, Mount Washington is a mountain to be reckoned with. The Tuckerman Ravine trail leads straight up to the bowl of the ravine, which is arguably the most historic and famous ski terrain in the East. The auto road is also quite famous, home to the Mount Washington Road Running Race, and Mount Washington Auto Road Bicycle Race.
