RockerRx: A miracle cure for most on-slope ailments
Rocker: A cure for face-shot deficiencies
Photo: Rob Pennie

For all the ease and fun superfat skis bring to powder skiing, they take away some of the visual effect. Because wide skis don’t sink much in powder, your body doesn’t submerge as deep as it used to, so the face shot has become somewhat elusive. It’s still out there; you just have to know how to get it. With rocker, the tips and tails do not catch much at all, so you are able to flare your skis sideways when you see a pillow of fluff and reclaim a bit of powder skiing’s past.
