How to choose a hotel
For the DIY set, the go-to site is tripadvisor.com, with yelp.com a distant second. but while you should read the reviews closely, it’s also important to keep them in perspective. How big is the critical mass reviewing a property? Sixty reviewers is good; 600 is better. note that there’s nothing to prevent a competitor from slamming a rival resort or the manager’s uncle from giving a dozen stellar reviews. If you have a lot of questions—how close are the lifts, how’s the restaurant, what does three stars really mean—you’re better off calling a travel agent.
