Why We Love it Feed your need to ski by grabbing a pair of water skis and heading to one of the many lakes surrounding Stowe or just grab a fishing pole and spend the day angling for your next big catch. If you prefer spending time on-mountain, hop on the gondola and take in views of the lush Northeast mountainsides.
Bring the kids to Attractions Park where no matter your age you can enjoy the rock climbing wall and bungee trampolines or try your luck on an inflatable obstacle course or take them ziplining through the treetops of Vermont about 10 minutes away at ArborTrek Canopy Adventures.
The grownups can try some local wine at either the Boyden Valley Winery, 40 minutes north of the lodge or the Grand View Winery, about 20 minutes south.
In the evenings, join the Stowe Mountain Lodge in the farm-to-table movement at Solstice and the Hourglass restaurants and get a taste of New England with regional seafood, dairy products, vegetables, lamb and free-range chicken from Vermont and lobster from Maine. Or head to the Spa and Wellness Center on Friday from 5-7 p.m. for the Friday Afternoon Club, where a hand and foot treatment with wine and cheese is just $20.
