Five Wives Vodka appeared in December 2011 and was an instant hit, winning Salt Lake City’s City Weekly’s award for Best New Spirit. Utah’s first licensed distillery since the 1800s, Ogden’s Own uses corn and wheat to create their vodka, then blends it with spring water collected five gallons at a time from Ogden Canyon. The spirit gained notoriety when neighboring Idaho banned the beverage for its ‘offensive’ label. Ogden’s Own threatened a lawsuit and Idaho quickly recanted, allowing the good people of Idaho to have their Five Wives – and drink it too. $18/750 ml, ogdensown.com
