Literary Dog Vodka may be the country’s only ‘forest to flask’ vodka. The process according to David Howe, a former chemical engineer turned Vermont farmer, is simple: collect maple sap from thousands of trees in a sugarbush, concentrate it, ferment it into maple wine, distill it, then blend it with spring water collected on-farm.
