Stuff We Like: Ski Town Vodkas
Permafrost Alaska Vodka by Alaska Distillery, Wasilla, Alaska

Yes, that Wasilla, the home of lipsticked pitbull Sarah Palin. Political shenanigans aside, Wasilla is notably near the Chugach Range, a name that quickens the pulse of avid skiers everywhere. Though Alaska Distillery’s Permafrost Vodka is their flagship, they produce nine other flavors, including Smoked Salmon and, as of 4-20-12, a date no chosen accidentally, hemp-seed vodka. Alaska Distillery claims that 98% of its ingredients are local, with the notable exception being imported hemp-seed. Its blending water comes from errant icebergs broken off the Harding Ice Field in Prince William Sound. Don’t worry, its ‘bergs are free-range – no glaciers are harmed in the production of its spirits. $36/750 ml. alaskadistillery.com
