Record snowfall this season (810 inches at Squaw) means both Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley USA will reopen Saturday, July 2 through Monday, July 4 with discounted lift tickets. On Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl Ski Resort is also reopening its doors Monday, July 4, but for 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 season pass holders only.
On Sunday, July 3, Squaw will host the famed 21st Annual Lake Cushing Crossing pond-skimming event, as well as a free Big Head Todd and the Monsters concert with KT as the amphitheatre.
The party kicks off on Friday night with a free concert by Stung, a Police tribute band, on the KT Sundeck stage and continues with DJ pool parties and daily barbeques at the High Camp Pool and live music at Gold Coast.
