Ultimate Vail: The Lodging Guide
The Arrabelle at Vail Square
Photo: Chris McLennan

Built to conjure the village squares of Innsbruck and Salzburg—think pastel exteriors, flower boxes and painted shutters with cutouts—the Arrabelle, which opened this past January, brings five-star service and amenities to Lionshead Village. The redheaded stepchild no longer, Lionshead Village unveiled 33,000 square feet of restaurants, galleries and shops last season. At the bottom of the Eagle Bahn gondola, the Arrabelle has 36 rooms and five suites (plus 55 private residences), all with fireplaces and many with balconies. Bathrooms have heated floors, glass showers and soaking tubs. The kids’ ski school is steps away at the Lionshead base, but your child’s instructor will meet you in the Arrabelle’s lobby. After your last run, check your skis with the valet and pad down to the 10,000-square-foot spa for an Après-Sport massage. Or ring your butler (one is assigned to each floor) and arrange for an in-room treatment. $295–$8,000; arrabelle.rock-resorts.com; 866-622-7625
