The marquee lodging option in the area is the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, right on the edge of the highly photogenic lake.  The castle-like hotel is almost a town unto itself, and you could easily post up there for a week without having to leave.

Also consider the Skoki Lodge or the Post Hotel.

Another option is to head down valley and stay in Banff, where the nightlife is a bit livelier.
