Who To Watch in Vancouver 2010: Downhill & Super G
Swifter Higher Stronger: Lindsey Vonn
Photo: Jonathan Selkowitz

Lindsey Vonn, USA America’s darling and reigning World Cup Overall Champion is a five-event threat, but it’s the speed events that have been her forte in recent years. That’s a little more than ironic, given her up-bringing at tiny Buck Hill, Minn. (vertical drop: 310 feet if you ski all the way to the edge of I-35). The great American racer Andrea Mead won two golds—slalom and giant slalom—at the Oslo Games in 1952. Can Vonn finally top that?
