Giro Helmets 2001-02

Considering the success of last year's Nine, Giro had little reason to adjust its line for the upcoming season. Nevertheless, Giro has come out with two new models, the S4 ($80) and the Sonic ($70), which look surprisingly similar to the Nine but with more accessible price tags. And, as if the old one wasn't good enough, they've revamped the Nine to near perfection, replacing Velcro with snaps, improving ventilation and padding, and renaming it the Nine9 ($125). Also, look for nods toward the Olympics in graphics and color schemes, and a sticker pack with the freeskiing model, the Flint ($145). The rest of the line returns with few changes.
