Outerwear : Stretch pants live on with the Obermeyer Athens ($190), featuring gusseted knees for extra freedom in the bumps and a chamois-fleece lining for warmth. Complete the look-and up the warmth factor-with the Orion jacket ($150). Its feminine cut flatters, while a drawstring waist and goose-down insulation block the chill.

Base layer: The Bula Layer ONE top and bottom ($50 each) are ultrafeminine, but that doesn't mean flimsy. Each piece is strategically blocked with different knits: "Hot spots" are vented, sensitive zones like the knees and rear are padded, and areas in need of extra support are reinforced.

Midlayer: Stripes, snowflakes, wool. Sure sounds like a '70s ski sweater. The Bula Banff ($100) offers vintage styling with-out the bulk of old. It's 100-percent Merino wool, which translates to warmth and breathability in a fine knit. The '70s were good, but this is better.

Goggles:n a subzero day, the last thing you want to do is show some skin. The BollÉ scream ($100) grants the coverage you want without giving your face that bug-eyed look. Adjustable vents and an antifog coating keep your vision clear.

Hat Finally, a hat that can multitask as well as you can. When temps drop, pull down the microfleece face- and neck-warmer that's tucked inside the Seirus Innovation Quick Draw ($20) for complete above-the-shoulders coverage.

Gloves Snowglory tailored its Snug Cuff mitten ($80) to women's slender fingers and narrow palms. Bonus: Extra lining around the fingertips picks up where circulation leaves off.
