Bad Heel Cup and Toe-Box Too Long

Bad Heel Cup and Toe-Box Too Long

We don't want boots that bind, pinch or squeeze us. As a result, many skiers tend to buy boots that are too wide in the heel or too long in the toes. Boots should feel comfortably snug: the heel cup should embrace your heel and prevent it from lifting and your toes should almost touch the fronts of the boots. These points are critical. Remember: A good fitter can grind away plastic, expand the shell or adjust the liner to eliminate any painful hot spots. Click on the "Bad Heel Cup" and "Boots Too Long" slideshows below.
