SMC and GORE Announce Marketing Partnership

posted: 04/15/2009

Snowsports Merchandising Corporation (SMC), the premier buying group of specialty ski and snowboard shops in the wintersports industry and W.L. Gore & Associates have announced a marketing partnership to aid in the launch of GORE-TEX® Gloves with X-TRAFIT™ Product Technology. This new technology is featured in many glove suppliers’ collections for winter season 2009 – 2010.

GORE-TEX® Gloves with X-TRAFIT™ Product Technology are the ideal solution for all uses where reliable grip and dexterity are important. The GORE-TEX® membrane and inner lining of the glove are securely bonded to each other to give a firm grasp on comfort and control.

Realizing that introducing new technology is the strength of specialty retailers, SMC and Gore have teamed up to help not only in the “sell in” but also the “sell through” of the new gloves by working together on a marketing campaign. Included in the campaign will be the production of an ad in a vertical consumer publication, an SMC exclusive direct to consumer mail piece and web presence to assist in training of SMC members’ sales personnel.

SMC is a buying group comprised of 64 members and 154 storefronts. For more information on the services that SMC provides to its members and the relative costs for membership, please contact Tom Gately or visit their website,
