Atomic Savage TI 2009-10
MSRP $1,049 flat
Dimensions 133-93-122
Category Ranking No. 3
Average Score 3.32
Meet the new top end of the Nomad line. It’s 7 mm wider than the vaunted Crimson, and Atomic softened the tip for flotation. We worried it might be too planky for non-powder fun; we needn’t have. The Savage is strong but manageable, and it especially used its size to its advantage in typical front-side junk. It gave up points for quickness and rebound energy but got plenty back for powder and crud performance. “Easy on the aging infrastructure; really performs in broken snow,” said Morgan.
Best for Smoothing out soft chop at GS speeds
Not for Bumps, or any kind of technical hard-snow line
