Next Year's Gear: A Sneak Peek at 2011's Skis and Boots
2011 Blizzard M Power FS IQ
Blizzard's splash this year is what they call IQ Power: the combination of a new cambered carbon interface that runs down the length of a ski and a piston integrated into the binding. The carbon interface makes the ski torsionally rigid and powerful, while the piston damps vibration and controls rebound. The result is a ski intended to be as powerful and stable as a race ski, but that's forgiving and easy to turn.
The Fire Arrows look fun on paper, but appalling visually. While everything seems to be being rockered, I wish they'd settle on common terms...early rise, rocker, amptek...what?!!
More details on 2011 skis with pics specifically from Rossi, Dynastar, Salomon, Stockli and Amplid.
