Atomic GS:11 (2006)
Hard to believe: an American conquering the World Cup. But there he is, World Cup overall champ Bode Miller. And here it is, a version of the ski he used to do it, the GS:11. No ski showed greater stability at speed, an Atomic hallmark attributable to its Beta construction, which employs twin semi-cylindrical cores. The new version features a less pronounced Beta shape. The cores extend fore and aft from the binding, but give way to a sandwich construction toward the tip and tail. A Titanal topsheet, dimpled to reduce drag, holds it all together for an exhilarating, FIS-legal, Bode-worthy ride. "Damp and powerful," says Morgan.
