Pro Can a ski be too powerful? Not if you crave G-force arcs at speed, which is why the Metron series won plenty of converts in its initial season. For others, though, it was a shade too…Austrian. Now Atomic has balanced the mix. The new M11 still aims to be as versatile as a ski can be, marrying a deep sidecut and race-sturdy construction to a waist width that likes powder as much as any midfat. But it’s a more relaxed Metron—lighter, with a sidecut radius lengthened from 11–12 meters up to a more versatile 14–15. Its Power Channels still store and release a lot of energy, but testers found it to be just as happy in medium and long arcs as short ones. "A solid citizen that holds well despite its width and loves to gobble speed," said Campbell. Con Still more ski than a lot of Freeriders want—or can handle.
