Pro Don’t let the name fool you: The Sugar may be sweet, but it’s no chick ski. Our chicks arrived at that conclusion after a few turns, but agreed that for the strongest and most aggressive women, the Sugar delivers the goods without a hint of condescension. This year-old shape was the widest we tested in the women’s powder ski categories, yet it still ranked among the quickest in short turns. And while, like the Big Daddy (see page 96), its construction is metal-free, it’s quintessentially Atomic in its edge-grip and sure-footedness at high speeds. That translates to pleasing performance between powder days. Thys described it as "solid, quick and surprisingly sneaky in tight spots." Con Lacks the flotation of similarly wide-waisted skis with bigger tips.
