Pro IQ refers to Blizzard’s unique binding interface, and in the quest to secure bindings in ways that enhance a ski’s performance, it’s one of the most intriguing. In the binding area, the CMX Pro’s sidewalls rise up above the top sheet, then curve inward to hold the binding tight to the ski. The binding is fixed in the center, allowing the toe and heel to float as the ski is flexed. And the binding’s toepiece is shaped to interface precisely with the tops of the sidewalls, further enhancing power transmission. It’s a seamless interface, yielding a noticeable quickness to edge that the women loved, and the ski itself—a snappy wood core with metal and carbon reinforcement—is a perfect mate for the IQ’s lively agility. "Fun on groomers, but light and energetic enough for moguls and trees," said Howard. Con Not entirely comfortable in long arcs.
