Testers enjoyed its quickness and might have thought it would be too demanding for less-skilled skiers. But if learning how to get a ski on edge is an intermediate’s gateway to carved turns, then an interface that helps them do it—by improving leverage—is all the better. The 7400 still gets a sturdy wood core, but it’s reinforced with snappy carbon and fiberglass instead of metal.
