Blizzard Viva 7.4 IQ (2010)
At this lower price point, many skis are cap constructions, because they’re cheaper to build than a traditional sandwich ski with sidewalls. (They also tend to be lighter and easier to ski, too.) But the 7.4 has a full sidewall, and all the edge-grip and integrity that comes with it. It’s easy, too—comfortable and calm sliding through turns. But it’s a better leader than follower, and it likes to be skied with energy. “Precise yet forgiving; energetic yet calm on the snow,” Sheinberg said.
