Pro Whatever happened to slalom turns? So many of the best skis in the test seem predisposed to long arcs at speed; it’s refreshing when a short-turn specialist rises to the top. Usually the problem is forgiveness. Not so with the I-AM 1.2, the rare ski that likes its turns in bunches and doesn’t require a particularly skilled pilot to make them fun. Sidecut and rebound are the key, and the 1.2 delivers both in abundance. There’s a measure of edge-grip, too, thanks to a construction that places extra mass over the edges, especially in the binding area. But if rebound and edge-grip usually add up to overly nervous precision, the 1.2 doesn’t make that mistake. "Super easy and balanced," said Lewis. "And it’s lightweight, so you won’t get tired." Con Deep sidecut and lightweight construction lessen high-speed stability.
