The Elite is, as its name suggests, a discerning ski bred for fast GS arcs on hardpack. Venture into the soft, though, and it turns up its nose. Testers loved its damp, heavy feel for the stuck-to-the-snow smoothness but noted it's slow to react and difficult to maneuver off-piste. (It scored last among winners in Quickness; a relatively long test ski-171 cm-may be partly to blame.) It's not for the weak, either-it has a stiff flex. "A stronger skier would benefit more from this ski," said Forland.
