Elan 888 ALU (2013)
Tester's Review
The 888 is the narrowest of Elan's capable mountain series and is a damp, traditional-feeling, carve-oriented ski in the same vein as the Volkl Mantra. It prefers smooth, groomed snow; while its beefy feel worked well on-pisteimparting a glued-on sensationit didn't help its off-piste agility. But that last point is debatable: 60 percent of testers wanted more off-piste playfulness, while the restEasterners in particularhad a rollicking time with it in trees and bumps.
