Elan M 666 (2006)

Elan M 666 (2006)

PROS: Like any good midfat, the M666 brings a balance of skills to any terrain and snow conditions. It has a distinctly "Elan" feel: supple enough to follow subtle terrain changes, damp enough to quietly hold an edge in hard snow. Its waist width gives it float in soft snow, but not at the expense of quickness. And a wood core and two sheets of metal give it the muscle to conquer whatever it encounters. The tight tolerances of its Fusion interface surely contribute to its quickness, but its floating toe and heel allow the ski to flex roundly in medium-radius arcs on the groomed. "A peppy ski that comes through (and out of) the turn with vigor," says Campbell. CONS: Begins to lose its confidence
