Fischer Cool Heat (2009)
Some Cruiser skis excel at flotation; others, like the Cool Heat, offer race-ready carve-ability. With a 76-mm waist, it won't founder in powder, but high speeds are its specialty. Cap construction gives it a measure of forgiveness, but it's metal-reinforced, so edge-grip and stability abound. If you're still skidding turns, look for something milder. But the Cool Heat's confidence is a thrill at speed. "Has that hardcore performance when you want it," said McGrath.
