Fischer KOA 78 (2012)
Tester's Review
The Koa 78 was the category lightweight, quick underfoot (no. 3) and fairly forgiving (no. 4). The 78 has a wood core and sandwich, sidewall construction but, unlike the 84 and 98 (see Mixed and Deep, respectively), it contains no carbon. The result is a softer flex that lends a relaxed feel and smooth rebound. It prefers soft groomed-and lacks the teeth to bite on ice. A rockered tip absorbs bumps but flaps at speed, so highexperts should look elsewhere. "Super-light feel," said Forland.
