Pro No gimmicks. This "plain vanilla" boot uses a number of proven systems-microadjustable buckles, dual cuff alignment, softer plastic instep flaps for better instep contact-and it fits and functions well, with a slightly narrower fit than most AE boots. One novel twist is a hinged cuff-trim device that allows the spoiler to tip rearward, making room for bigger calves. The 9 is virtually identical to Fischer's Pro, but softer, with less extensive liner customization. The women's boot uses a softer plastic and a female-specific liner, but otherwise they're similar. Both men and women felt the flex was moderately soft and forgiving, but that didn't undermine steering. "It's not hyperquick," said Rich. "But it's stable in long turns and works equally well at high or low speeds." Con Merely adequate rear support. Top Scores Closure System 3.0, Entry/Exit 2.9, Adjustability 2.9
