Fischer MX9/W (2006)

Fischer MX9/W (2006)

Now in its third year, the Fischer boot project shows signs of progress, and the MX9 is its most promising result to date. The core feature is its adducted stance, which positions the feet at slightly duck-footed angles on the ski. It's a more natural stance than a parallel position (stand and look down at your feet), and it provides a comfortable, stable platform for standing on a ski in midcarve. Testers felt the difference, reporting increased ease in tipping the ski and applying pressure to the edge. The fairly soft-flexing MX9 has other attributes: two-sided cuff-alignment adjustability, shock absorption under the heel and soft plastic over the instep that makes getting it on and off a breeze. Sabanosh says it's "comfortable, smooth-flexing and laterally solid."
