Fischer Soma X-110 (2012)
Holy sapphire-banana mash up. Evidently the magic powder smurfs bleed yellow when you stomp them into submission and poach their stashes. But testers loved the slinky feel of this boot on snow—greasy, tuned-in, at home in all types of terrain and snow. It's tall and balanced and easy to get on/off. The flex feel is forgiving and rangy. And do believe the H.I.P.E. (high insulation polyethylene): That liner is nice. Notes: rubberized boot board and grippy sole plates set it apart from Progressor, X-rail shell construction ties upper boot to rear two-thirds of lower via strong panels for immediate energy transfer to the ski, On/Off Piste mode rear spoiler design allows for quick fore-aft stance change from more forward to more upright, heat system ready cuff feature makes for easy racking of battery pack, dual eliptical cam canting provides easy lateral adjustment range, Rapid Slide system makes entry and exit super easy.
