Goode Wasatch (2013)
One thing Goode, which got its start building carbon-fiber water skis, has always known how to do is build a super light sk So for backcountry skiers, this company should be on the radar. The Wasatch is Goode's all-condition men's backcountry model, with a waist-width of 98 mm. It has the same sidecut as the fire, with enough girth to be capable in any terrain or snow, but its core is 25 percent lighter. The core is made from a special foam stitched with Kevlar, which aims to give it the responsiveness and performance usually found in wood-core skis. A carbon-fiber torsion-box construction should give it plenty of snap.
