Head Monster i.M 88 (2008)
Head intends the 88 primarily for off-trail use, but given how well it performs on-trail, you might want to spend more time there. It put up the No. 2 score in Stability at Speed, yet only three other skis outscored it for Flotation. That gives you an idea of the 88’s balance. As in the carvier i.M 78, metal gives it calm and strength, while Intelligence fibers add torsional resistance at high speeds. "It has some heft, but is surprisingly smooth and nimble," said Preston.
Best For
Beating everyone down on powder days.
Not For
A tentative approach.
