Head S10/W (2006)
The S10 is essentially a softer version of Head's RS 100 (see AME), which makes it a more appropriate match for lighter-weight or less dynamic skiers. But it's capable of performing like an expert-level boot, so there's room to grow. The Full Custom System is available, though the boot comes with the cradle removed to make the S10 fit wider initially. It can be added to reduce volume and selectively adjust the fit, which most dealers will do free of charge or for a nominal fee. The S10 is an agreeable boot with a plush liner and buckles that are levered in a way that cleverly reduces the amount of force necessary to open and close them. "Great boot for the category," says Couperthwait. "The performance is there, but never too much."
PRICE (MSRP): $700.00
