The Missdirected is the widest, most pow-specific ski in the category. Which means two things: You don't have to be an expert to drive it (super-rockered tip is a cinch to steer, earning it No. 1 in Forgiveness), and you should really consider moving to Utah (where its relatively low score in Hard-Snow Grip won't bother you one bit). Testers used its loose, slippery feel and twin-tip tails to seamlessly pivot and take creative lines through trees. The low swing weight of K2's women-specific Bioflex wood core makes the Missdirected light and easy to maneuver. NOTES: The Missdirected, flagship model of K2's women's Factory Team series of athlete-inspired, youth-driven twintips, is the widest women's ski K2 makes and among the very widest women's models on the market. It's a powder lover for sure, built for smeary, slashing, rockered looseness in bottomless snow. But K2 says it won't feel out of place during the occasional visit to the park. It's a metal-free, wood-core, women's-specific K2 Bioflex3 construction, with aspen underfoot (80 percent) for strength and responsiveness and paulownia (20 percent) tip and tail for softer flex and reduced swing weight. K2's TwinTech sidewalls are beveled inward at the top to protect them from damage caused by the other ski's edge. The Missdirected combines a big dose of rocker in the forebody with traditional camber underfoot, so it's happiest in powder but not unhappy on hardpack. The tip is tapered so it's loose and smeary in deep snow, with reduced swing weight. Tip and tail hardware is removable, and the holes readily accept trim-to-fit K2 skins for touring. As with all Factory Team skis, the edges are extra thick (3.5 mm) for enhanced durability, and the base graphic is as cool as the topsheet. The pink ribbon on the base signifies K2's support (at least $75,000 annually) for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
