Lange Comp 100/W (2006)
Identical in every way except flex to the Comp 120 (see AME/Freeride), the 100 suits lighter-weight experts as well as Cruisers. It's a friendlier boot, available only in Lange's MF (medium-fit) volume and softer-flexing by about 10 percent. Yet it retains the snug heel-ankle grip that give Langes their quickness and precise steering. And the Custom Air Concept heat-moldable liner technology, which takes an accurate impression of the foot without losing resiliency, will only improve the fit-well worth the short time it takes. Many Cruisers will benefit by replacing the boot and toe lugs with optional canted ones ($50). Wax calls the 100 "one of the best for skiers looking to break through to the next level."
PRICE (MSRP): $595.00
