Nordica called it an expert boot when it debuted in 2003. As new boots came in above it, the Beast’s flex was softened a bit, and its target market was lowered. But it should come as no shock that the Beast still rules its category. It’s a wide fit at the forefoot (101 mm), yet it still grips the foot nicely. Getting in and out is ridiculously easy, and an elasticized Booster powerstrap provides unusual security. “Incredible comfort given the level of performance,” said Couperthwait.
