Nordica GTS 12 (2006)
The GTS again wowed testers with its uncanny ability to accommodate wider feet with a warm, well-cushioned fit while still delivering a credible skiing experience. The balance point is dead-accurate, steerability is instinctive, and Nordica's elasticized Booster strap gives it a liveliness all too often missing in boots at this price. The GTS's levered buckles are some of the best in the category. Adjustments are easy to make and have demonstrable effect-not something that can be said about many boots. And female testers loved the warm faux-fur lining of the W version. "Finally," says Sheinberg. "A lower-level boot that's not insulting."
