Nordica Hot Rod (2006)
Take the race-ready performance of Nordica's Dobermann Pro 130 (see Race), dial it back a notch, give it a cherry-red paint job and some sexy see-through plastic, and you've got a Hot Rod. The Top Fuel is a freeskier's race boot, virtually identical to the Pro, but with a softer bootboard and Nordica's revamped Booster strap. The new Super Booster doesn't just look cool. Its rubbery elastomers stretch when flexed, which makes it easier to initiate turns-without sacrificing power in the belly of the turn-and also yields a snappier return to vertical. "Finally," says Ross. "Someone has figured out the perfect balance between comfort and performance."
