Rossignol Alias Sensor 120 (2014)
Here’s a rarity. The Alias 120 has a monstrously-sized fit that maintains a shape that makes sense. The width is considerable at the toebox and forefoot and remains so over the top of the foot and through the instep—exactly where big, thick feet usually have a lot of volume. There aren’t many gizmos or gadgets hanging off this boot but that suited our testers fine. A strong 120 flex that buttresses a big-bodied, good skier and a commodious 104 mm cargo hold lower was all the Alias 120 needed to team with its fit and stance to push it above the cut in this category. There’s a single-side cuff adjustment here—standard these days in this category—and the top buckle catch is a quick slider for opening up even more calf room without using tools. Tester Comments: "For a Fred Flintstone pro model the skiing performance is dynamic. The flex and balanced position are solid." "Great power and stability at speed—rippin' wide boot."
