Rossignol Alltrack 120 (2014)

Rossignol Alltrack 120 (2014)
Tester's Review

At 102 mm with a 120 flex, this wide and stout boot will be a great wingman for bigger guys sporting thicker feet. It’s solid, with real power, stability and comfort in spades—plus a cuff release. The fit through the lower is very wide, especially in the squared-off toebox and forefoot; there’s also additional vertical space to accommodate thick insteps. Testers liked how predictable this boot was edge-to-edge—a dream ride on groomers and smooth, soft snow surfaces. Its stance is upright. The cuff is tall and solid with room at boot top for a big calf—but our shorter testers were also fine with the stance set-up. It has a grippy arch area and soles that are swappable to new Walk-to-Ride norm rockered toe sets, a lace-up liner option for chillin' in the yurt and a polyolefin plastic upper cuff to shave some touring weight. With upper buckles unlatched, the hike mode range of motion was better than testers had expected from a more area-centric model. Rossi’s Posi-Block cuff release strongly connects upper to lower—testers experienced no unwanted play or lack of fore-aft support while skiing. There aren’t many Alpine style 102mm width/120 flex models with hike modes but this is one—a good one. Tester Comments: "Laterally solid with a smooth flex. Good feel for the snow, great skiability." "Handled everything I asked of it. All-day-long comfort."
