Rossignol Attraxion XII (2010)
Rossi has resurrected some retro graphics (see the Classic 80 TI in men’s Speed), but its return to basics is more than topsheet deep. Take the XII, which replaces last year’s Mutix. With no bells, whistles or interchangeable arms, the XII is simply a good, solid ski, with a wood core and carbon layers that make it grip like it’s on rails. Some, however, felt they couldn’t get off the train: The ski was comfortable only in fast GS turns. “It’s consistent,” said MacConnell, “but not very versatile.”
PRICE (MSRP): $1150.00
