Rossignol Experience 88 (2012)
Tester's Review
Part of the same family, the 88 is 10 mm narrower than the 98 (above), which makes it quicker and lighter if not quite as surefooted and powerful. It's also metal-free. Instead of metal, Rossi uses layers of glass-basalt weave, and the effect is tangible: The 88 was No. 1 in Rebound. Testers favored the wider skis in the group (it was snowing hard), but the snappy 88, second to only to the 98 in Hard-Snow Grip, will be an Eastern ripper's trusty friend. "Nimble enough to snap off quick turns; solid enough to open it up on groomers," said Mearce. Notes: Sold flat or as a system ski with the Rossignol Axium 120 binding (MSRP $900)
