Rossignol Experience SL 130 (2014)
Rossi claims its flagship Experience is unchanged from the high scoring one we tested last year. Our testers said “No way.” It seemed way better. What's the key to the Experience 130 S.I.'s popularity? A balanced and neutral stance, dialed right out of the box, teams with an ankle, instep, and heel pocket geometry that perfectly mates to the foot. It is performance-snug but not crushing, and with enough fit freedom at the forefoot and toebox to go all day. Add to that impact dampening Ultra Grip replaceable soles and rubberized boot board that smooth out feedback from the snow and tone down skier inputs just a bit so mistakes aren’t punished too dearly. A single cuff adjustment and a removable Velcro spoiler round out the simple adjustment set. Tester comments: “A joy to ski—dreamy and aggressive." "The cuff locks to leg and it feels like the sole of foot is the top of ski."
