Rossignol Phantom SC 95 (2009)
Whatever finally replaced the Bandit line-one of Rossi's most successful ever-needed to be special. Evidently, the Phantoms are worthy successors. They're wood-core layups, so the 95 has more life than any foam-core B3 or XXX ever had. Testers loved its hefty, supremely substantial feel, but they also praised its playful attitude. It's powerful, but it's never overbearing. "Easy and playful, but you can still drive it, and it won't fold," said Larsen.

My Rating:
5
I picked up a pair of new old stock SC95's to replace my tried and try Bandit XXX. These skis are nothing short of amazing. The love everything I threw at them. I couldn't find a snow condition that they wouldn't eat up. From hard pack to heavy wet crud these skis turned with ease and were very comfortable to ride.
